Software

Our software will serve you to optimise part design and manufacturing efficiency. The key functionalities are:

  • Automated generation of fiber layup from a CAD model
  • Option for manual optimization for each roving-band
  • Creation of a finite-element dataset for structural simulation and further optimization
  • Derivation of the robot motion program from the fiber layup; validation and optimization of manufacturability

More complex parts are produced in two stages: first an initial shape is created (convex and three-dimensional) and preformed. It contains the required fiber lengths for the final part. This initial preform is then postformed to the final shape. This approach allows for more complex shapes to be produced with minimal roving slippage.

This postforming process can also be simulated; in the animation below right, a three-dimensional initial shape is being postformed into its final shape.
